Computer portatile come Access Point

CPU: 333Mhz Pentium 2
RAM:128Mb
Disco fisso: 6Gb ( cambiato con uno di 120Gb )
Modem 56K: presente
Ethernet: Assente; Wi-Fi: Assente ( aggiunta in seguito)

Mi vengono in mente diverse idee su come riqualificarlo.

Hack Voice Tracer Digital Recorder as mp3 player

Hacking means curiosity to use a device in every way you want because General purpose hardware means general use of a device, but sometime or often this is not true. This is the case of some voice recorder like the one I'm writing this post. I use it to record my University lessons and I'd like also to use during the break to listen music.

So after some trouble shooting. i have found a way to insert a validable mp3 file into the mp3 voice player.

I discover that ....

Deceive and monitor by honeypot systems

It's intrinsically impossible coping with all possible threats, including those not yet known.

In traditional systems you try to avoid attacks but sooner or later it will happen. With the introduction of NIDS monitoring function was added. Then with IPS, the systems became reactive through attempts to block network traffic from the malicious suspected source but it was still defending production value.

Thanks to the honeypot system the perspective changes radically because it has no production value. Rather it pretends to have it.

How to make a Raspberry Pi Box - HLCZ graphical box contest

Sometimes we used to buy a box, while others prefer to build it. This last example is the case of hlcz RaspB Pi.

So we decided to start a graphical competition. The winner will have the prize to be really printed ed used as box.

So this is my own version. Very simple and classic like "Matrix" is. For a good print preformance i suggest to use a green paper in a Black&White printer. :-D

It is free downloadable here.

Raspy: a Personal Server with Raspberry PI

In the last years we have seen that Raspberry PI has got a great interest for the Open Source community and, indeed, it is endless the range of applications that RP (Raspberry PI) can be used due in particular for the size. After buying and using it for a while you realize that actually you need to do something more interesting than using it as a Desktop PC.

Moreover, I think it shouldn't be used as a Desktop PC because although RP has good performance considering the size (credit card size) it turns out that RP cannot execute heavy graphical processes.

The idea of create a Personal Server came into my mind several years before the origin of RP and the main purpose for creating a PS (Personal Server) is to serve only a really restricted number of users (usually only one) over the network and to be highly available whenever the users need it and, possibly, it should reduce the power consumption. As you can see Raspberry PI fits perfectly for this purpose.
